Roasted Garlic & Herb Whipped Feta with Toasted Sesame Seed Pita Chips

Serves: 4-5

Ingredients

  • Whipped Feta:
  • 1 head garlic
  • 1–2 tsp olive oil, for roasting
  • 8 oz feta cheese, crumbled
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tbsp Greek yogurt (or sour cream substitute)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional; can also drizzle on top before serving)
  • 1 tsp honey (optional)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh herbs
  • 1⁄8 tsp sea salt
  • 1⁄8 tsp black pepper

  • Pita Chips:
  • 3–4 pita breads (or naan)
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • 1⁄8 tsp black pepper
  • 1⁄8 tsp garlic powder

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400ºF. Slice the top off the garlic bulb, drizzle with olive oil, wrap in foil, and roast for 35–40 minutes, until soft and golden.
  2. Squeeze the roasted garlic into a food processor. Add feta, cream cheese, yogurt, honey, and olive oil. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add herbs, salt, pepper, and lemon juice (if using). Pulse briefly to combine.
  4. Transfer to a shallow bowl and drizzle with olive oil or lemon juice on top. Finish with hot honey and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes, if desired.
  5. For pita chips, brush both sides with olive oil. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and seasoning, if desired. Bake at 375ºF for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through. Cut into wedges for dipping.
