Super Bowl Veggie Tray

Veggies!

Super Bowl Sunday is a great occasion to enjoy a relaxing afternoon with friends and family cheering on your favorite team or groaning over unfortunate plays. Having a variety of snacks to munch on is part of the tradition. Don't forget to stop in the Ingles produce section when shopping for Super Bowl snacks. You can balance out high fat foods with a colorful vegetable tray and a tasty dip. A selection of crunchy vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, cherry tomatoes or tomato wedges, mini carrots or carrot sticks, and slices of red, green and yellow peppers will tempt kids and adults and insure they're getting their vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Make your own dip using your favorite creamy salad dressing or by adding a dry onion soup mix to Laura Lynn sour cream. You can also use Laura Lynn plain low-fat yogurt to make a dip. Place a fine wire mesh strainer or cheesecloth over a bowl and pour the Laura Lynn plain yogurt through the strainer. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour. The drained product will be a yogurt "cheese" which will have a thicker consistency than yogurt. Add your favorite dry dip mix to the yogurt "cheese" and enjoy!
