Sticking with your Resolutions - Week 3: Having it Homemade

With our busy lifestyles it often seems easier to eat out than deal with the hassle of cooking and clean up. Don't forget that trips to restaurants and fast-food shops can get very expensive. There are many alternatives at Ingles that can help you stick with a budget and also provide you with quick meal solutions for busy lifestyles. Here are some building blocks for quick meals:
- Rotisserie chicken from the Deli
- Marinated tofu from the Produce section
- Complete meals in bags found in the Frozen Food section and the frozen Meat section. They have the meat(chicken or shrimp), pasta or rice and vegetables all together and cook up in about 10 minutes.
- Pizza Shells found in the Grocery section
- Heat and serve meat options in the Meat section.
Here are some of my favorites that are ready in minutes.
- Personal Pizzas - Using small pizza shells spread Bertolli sauce, grated cheese, and top with Mario black olives and bake in oven.
- Chicken dinner - Slice up a rotisserie chicken and serve with steamed broccoli and instant brown rice.
- Meals in a bag - Pick up your favorite meal in a bag and supplement with more frozen vegetables or a tossed salad.
