Fill up on Fiberm

Ask Leah!

Eating foods that are high in fiber helps us out in a couple of different ways.

  1. Soluble and insoluble fiber fills us up and makes us feel less hungry.
  2. Fiber helps get things moving in our digestive tract and prevents constipation.

Foods that have fiber are: whole grain breads and cereals, beans, vegetables, and fruits. Foods that have no fiber: milk, cheese, yogurt, meat, oils and fats

Here are some easy ways that you can add fiber to your diet:

  1. Add rinsed canned beans to your salad.
  2. Sprinkle Quaker Quick Oatmeal on your cereal.
  3. Take fruit and vegetables as a snack.
  4. Eat dried fruit like Sun Maid raisins, apricots and dried plums.

This is general information only and should not replace advice or instructions given to you by your physician.
