Getting kids involved with holiday food preparation

Here are some ideas on ways your children can help out during the holidays and also learn some valuable skills:
- Help make up a shopping list. (Spelling practice)
- Pick out and weigh vegetables. (Identifying vegetables and using a scale)
- Using cookie cutters with fun shapes to make holiday cookies.
- Mashing potatoes or sweet potatoes.
- Arranging vegetables and cut up wedges of Borden cheeses for snack platters.
- Arranging a relish plate using Mario green and black olives, pickles, and celery stuffed with Borden cream cheese.
- Washing and drying dishes, pots, and pans.
- Loading and unloading the dishwasher.
- Sweeping the floor.
- Setting the table.
