Be Health Wise, Shop Smart at Ingles!

Ask Leah!

It won't be long before we see those bright yellow school buses in our neighborhoods again. Gear up for the start of school by making sure you pick up the right ingredients at Ingles to make getting kids off to school as easy as possible.

  1. Power up with Breakfast - Send your kids off with a breakfast that will give them energy and keep them alert. Frozen waffles, breakfast bars, and cereals are a quick way to start the day. A glass of Laura Lynn milk with breakfast will help build their bones and teeth. If your kids don't like traditional breakfast foods, eating a sandwich or leftovers from last night's dinner still gets a good grade as far as supplying nutrition.
  2. Lunchtime - School lunches are fine from time to time but packing your child's lunch, or having them pack it the night before, may ensure they get a more balanced meal and that they'll eat all of it. Sandwiches, cut up vegetables, a piece of fruit, fruit cups like Del Monte Fruit To Go, or dried fruit like SunMaid raisins along with a 100% fruit juice or boxed milk will fill them up until they come home.
  3. Keeping it cool - You'll find lots of different insulated lunch sacks at Ingles. If you freeze the box of juice, it'll keep the food extra cold.
